"When lifting my foot, it feels a bit tight across the top of the foot, but once I step down, it's not as noticeable. I have flat feet and wide feet, so I'll test it during an evening basketball game and update my review based on the experience. PS: After playing, it performed really well. The support and torsional stability are good. The heel is softer and more bouncy than the forefoot, which is probably why so many people wear Kobe shoes. The only downside is that you can't use custom insoles, but otherwise, it's great. PS2: I forgot about the tightness on the top of the foot and tried a second half-court game. Since speed isn't a factor in half-court, the only noticeable sensation was the bouncy feel when jumping and landing. Also, the tightness on the top of the foot didn't feel as painful as in the first game."

As someone with a lighter build, the cushioning is enough for me—it doesn't jar my head when jumping and landing. After all, it's a shoe from over a decade ago. If you want even better cushioning and more advanced technology, you might want to check out the G.T. Cut instead.
