These sneakers were born for Olympic victory~ The Kobe 4 'Gold Medal' colorway was specifically designed for Kobe's 2008 championship win. The details are incredible, featuring all of Kobe's jersey numbers: USA's number 10, as well as 8 and 24. Coincidentally, the day they won the championship was August 24th. As for the specs: Each shoe weighs 376 grams. The upper, side panels, and heel padding are well-cushioned, with Flywire technology retained. The outsole has a carbon fiber plate, and the heel features a horseshoe-shaped Zoom Air unit with great pressure. The forefoot has cushioned foam, making these shoes perfect for actual gameplay—excellent torsional support, solid upper support, and decent cushioning. The only downside is that the shoe last is a bit narrow, and the sizing runs small. I'd recommend going half a size up for those with narrow feet and a full size up for wider feet—don't go true to size! As a Kobe fan, I couldn't wait to lace these up~

The long-awaited Kobe 4 Protro has finally arrived, and I couldn't wait to try them on. They definitely live up to the hype! First off, the fit is amazing—snug and supportive right out of the box, which is a signature feature of Kobe's shoes. This is the OG Flywire version, and while the Flywire doesn't add much in terms of performance, it definitely makes the shoe look way cooler than the non-Flywire version. The cushioning is also top-notch, as expected from the Kobe 4. The forefoot feels low to the ground, while the heel has that explosive bounce. However, the large leather panels mean the breathability isn't as good as newer models. Plus, the milky translucent outsole is probably going to oxidize pretty quickly 😂. For sizing, if you have wide feet, I'd recommend going up half a size. The fit is so tight that going true to size would make them unwearable for daily use.
