The high-top design offers great protection for the Achilles and ankles, but compared to other Kobe low-top models, it sacrifices some flexibility and that ultra-close-to-the-ground feel. The carbon fiber plate on the side provides solid support but does limit foot movement a bit and can feel a little intrusive.
